Hi, I’m Kim.

I’m an English Language Teacher and Life Coach.

I specialize in both English language training and personal development coaching, all tailored to you.

I would be honoured to partner with you as you are, wherever you are, into the person you would like to be.

Let me help you develop your English language skills and/or coach you through your life’s journey.

My services are available worldwide through online sessions and in-person sessions within my local area.

Background

I'm a first-generation Filipino-Canadian. I was born and raised in Toronto, yet my curiosity to experience other people's 'normal' has led me to explore different corners of the world. During my travels and various volunteer and work experiences spanning 33 countries, I've not only had the privilege of connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, but I've also had the opportunity to listen to their personal stories.

Many have shared stories of hardship, pain, and life-altering experiences. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, their stories have been equally remarkable, resilient and unwaveringly authentic. For me, the act of teaching English and creating a space where personal stories can be shared is incredibly fulfilling.

  • I have over 15 years of experience working with youth and adults as an educator and volunteer in a variety of counselling roles in both the private and public sectors in Canada and abroad. For example, I served as a residence counsellor at an international boarding school and as a support worker in a group home for adults with diverse intellectual abilities.

My international teaching journey commenced in 2018 when I began teaching English as a second language in Austria, conducting immersive programs within state schools. This journey continued with two years in Spain, where I taught at a Catalan semi-private school and a private British language school catering to students of all age groups.

In 2020, I moved to Germany. I not only taught Business English in companies, but also English immersive programs within state schools and proficiency courses at a local university until the end of 2023.

Currently, I work as an ESL instructor and student advisor for a private academy in Canada. I also provide life coaching services, both in-person and online.

I started my journey as a life coach in 2022. I primarily work with university students, newcomers, and professionals in various fields.

Additionally, I seasonally teach English immersive programs in Italy for secondary students.

My ultimate aspiration is to become a qualified psychotherapist. I'm currently working on my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and expect to graduate in 2026.

  • Yes. In my own experience with a life coach and psychotherapist, I learned to openly trust others to listen to my story, and in turn actively and attentively listen to others. It is where I began to understand the contexts of my life, and more importantly, recognize and honour my lived experiences as something unique, rather than something to be ashamed of.

It's essential to clarify that I'm not claiming to be completely healed or free from life's challenges. Instead, I've cultivated a mindset and acquired tools that empower me to confront limiting beliefs whenever adversity arises. Even better, I've developed greater compassion for both myself and others.

Above all, I have the capacity to embrace life fully, regardless of past experiences or future uncertainties.

Together, life coaching and therapy have transformed the relationship I have with myself, with others, and with the world around me. My hope is that I can assist you in uncovering similar revelations within yourself.

  • English teaching and life coaching both provide me the opportunity to meet and build connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

I have the chance to support and empower individuals to achieve their language and personal goals, opening doors to improved opportunities and a better quality of life. It's a win-win for everyone involved.

Through these experiences, I've come to value learning about what's 'normal' for others, whether it's in the realm of English proficiency or any facet of life. For me, supporting anyone’s personal and professional growth brings me immense fulfillment.
